SHENA hosts students in continuing Safety Awareness Programme at Bendahara Lama Primary School
15 January 2026
Bandar Seri Begawan, 15 January 2026 - The Safety, Health and Environment National Authority (SHENA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, has successfully conducted its second #SAFEKIDSBN outreach programme for 2026 at Bendahara Lama Primary School. This programme aims to introduce students to the fundamental safety and health concepts through an engaging, interactive, and productive learning session.
Building on the success of last year’s programme, the second edition of #SAFEKIDSBN focused on reinforcing key safety habits among students. This initiative encouraged students to practice safe habits not only within the school environment but also at home and in their daily routines. A total of 49 students participated in a series of safety briefings, hands-on activities, and team-based challenges, all designed to enhance their awareness, communication, and self-confidence.
A key highlight of the programme was the immersive Virtual Reality (VR) learning experience, allowing students to explore simulated environments, identify hazards, and practice making safe decisions. This innovative approach reflects SHENA’s commitment to using engaging tools to make safety education both effective and enjoyable.
Students remain actively engaged throughout the session, guided by SHENA officers and their teachers. Points were awarded for participation, teamwork, and enthusiasm, with the highest-performing groups receiving special recognition. Prizes and certificates were presented to students as a token of appreciation for their involvement and positive contributions.
Programmes such as #SAFEKIDSBN are integral to SHENA’s ongoing efforts to raise public awareness and foster a safety-first mindset across all age groups. By consistently engaging young learners, SHENA strives to empower the next generation to become champions of safety and health in Brunei Darussalam.
