Tuesday, 30 May 2023 – As part of the SHENA Safety Month 2023, the third part of the roadshow that showcased the importance of safety and health at workplace was successfully held at the Main Conference Hall, International Convention Centre (ICC) in the Brunei-Muara District. The event witnessed a remarkable turnout with active participation from government agencies, private companies, and institutes of higher learning and schools.

The opening ceremony was graced by the Guest of Honour, Yang Mulia Awang Salminan bin Haji Burut, the Permanent Secretary (Safety and Welfare) at the Ministry of Home Affairs. The event was followed by a tour of the booths that exhibited SHENA’s functions and initiatives on workplace safety and health promoted by the MPEC Secretariat, JobCentre Brunei, Public Works Department (JKR), Authority on Building Control and Construction Industry (ABCi), Health Promotion Centre, Brunei Asia Pacific Shell Learning Hub (BAPSLH), Centre for Lifelong Learning C3L, Lifelong Learning Centre L3, Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre (PJSC), Unified National Networks (UNN), Megamas Training Co. Sdn. Bhd., Kare Medical Clinic, Berjaya Aman Sdn. Bhd., Cortex Training & Development Company, and Lifesaving Academy Company. Other activities during the district roadshow included informative talk series on topics regarding emerging occupational diseases and ways of ensuring a safe and healthy working environment. Interactive games were also available with the aim of promoting safety awareness in a fun and more engaging manner.

One of the highlights of the program was the recently published Workplace Safety and Health Notice (WSHN) on Heat Stress Precautions in the workplace that emphasized the importance of safeguarding workers in hot and dry weather conditions. The event concluded with the announcement and prize presentation for the winners of the engaging Play & Win contest; Yang Mulia Amirol Hamzah bin Basri, Yang Mulia Md Rufian bin Pengarah Haji Abd Rahman and Yang Mulia Muhammad Fitri bin Ahman.
