Tutong, Brunei - 25 June 2024 – The Safety, Health and Environment National Authority (SHENA), in collaboration with Persatuan Kereta Tahan Lasak Brunei (PKTLB), delivered its donations to twenty (20) flood-affected families in Kampong Benutan, Tutong District at Masjid Kampong Benutan today.

This initiative by donations from SHENA staff is to assist and help ease the burden of the victims affected. The hand over of the basic household necessities was received by representatives of each affected family, including basic food items; cooking oil, rice and canned foods.

The hand over was participated by twelve (12) PKTLB volunteers and seven (7) SHENA staff responsible for organising impactful social responsibility activities with the participation of community members and other relevant organisations.

Aligned with the World Day for Safety and Health’s theme of recognising the impacts of climate change on occupational safety and health, this collaborative effort underscored the commitment to the welfare and safety of Brunei's citizens during natural disasters such as floods.

Apart from drawing attention to the social impacts of extreme weather events, this exemplifies SHENA's commitment to its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) with the aim to improve social welfare of the community following the pillars of Maqasid Syar'iah.

SHENA and PKTLB are grateful for the involvement of all the volunteers and donors who made this initiative a success.
