SHENA issues compound fine following inspection at premises in Jalan Kuala Tutong, Kampong Penabai, Mukim Kuala Tutong

20 APRIL 2026 - The Safety, Health and Environment National Authority (SHENA) announces that enforcement action has been taken following an inspection conducted at a Construction Worksite located in Jalan Kuala Tutong, Kampong Penabai, Mukim Kuala Tutong.

The enforcement action relates to a failure to comply with Regulation 4, Provision of First-Aid Boxes under the Workplace Safety and Health (First-Aid) Regulations. As a result, a compound fine amounting to BND 500.00 was issued to the occupier of the premises and has since been settled in full.

Following the inspection, the occupier has undertaken the necessary corrective measures to address the non-compliance identified during the inspection.

SHENA reminds all parties that compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act, Cap 277 and its subsidiary regulations is mandatory at all times. Any occupier who fails to comply with the Workplace Safety and Health (First-Aid) Regulations commits an offence and is liable, upon conviction, to a fine not exceeding BND 5,000.

SHENA remains committed to upholding safety, health, and environmental compliance and will continue to conduct inspections and take appropriate enforcement action in accordance with the law to safeguard workers, the public, and the environment.
