ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS

SHENA enforces both Workplace Safety and Health Act, Chapter 277 and the regulations made thereunder and Radiation Protection Act, Chapter 228. Any contraventions identified related to the laws, SHENA may take enforcement actions which includes issuance of Warning Letter Remedial Order, Stop-Work Order, Compound Fines and Legal Prosecution.

A formal letter issued to Principal, Employer or Occupier for non-compliance to the law and regulations.
REMEDIAL ORDER

An improvement notice issued to Principal, Employer or Occupier for significant non-compliances to the law and regulations, with a set timeline to rectify the non-compliances.
STOP WORK ORDER

A legal notice issued to Principal, Employer or Occupier where there is serious and imminent danger to persons.
COMPOUND FINES

A notice issued for compoundable offences.
LEGAL PROSECUTION

A court order issued to relevant persons involved in the workplace where there is a justification of non-compliance to law, as an outcome of a thorough investigation and court decision.
