26 August 2026
Bandar Seri Begawan, 26 August 2026 - The Safety, Health and Environment National Authority (SHENA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, successfully conducted #SAFEKIDSBN outreach programme at Sengkurong Primary School, to introduce students to the fundamental safety and health concepts through an interactive and productive educational learning session.
The programme is part of SHENA’s ongoing mission to foster a strong culture of safety and responsibility among young learners. The session encouraged students to practice safe habits not only at school, but also at home and in their everyday lives. A total of 86 students participated in the programme, which featured a mix of safety briefings, hands-on activities, and team-based challenges designed to enhance awareness, communication, and confidence.
A key highlight of the programme was the immersive Virtual Reality (VR) learning experience, where students explored simulated environments to identify hazards and practice making safe decisions. This innovative approach reflects SHENA’s commitment to using engaging tools to make safety education both effective and enjoyable.
Throughout the session, students participated with great enthusiasm, actively guided by SHENA officers and their teachers. Points were awarded for participation, teamwork, and energy, with top-performing groups receiving special recognition. Prizes and certificates were also presented to students in appreciation of their involvement and positive engagement.
Programmes like #SAFEKIDSBN are part of SHENA’s broader effort to raise public awareness and foster a safety-first mindset across all age groups. By engaging young learners, SHENA aims to empower the next generation to become champions of safety and health in Brunei Darussalam.
